Dangerous situation at the airport: Burimari Express derailed

The Dhaka-bound intercity Burimari Express (810) leaving Lalmonirhat derailed near the Airport Railway Station. This has stopped train services on the Dhaka-bound line via Tongi since 11:30 am on Tuesday (September 2).
A responsible source in the Dhaka division of the railway said that the 'D' coach of the train suddenly derailed near the airport cross section. At that time, a buffer attached to the coach also broke and fell to the ground. To bring the situation under control, a relief train reached the spot around 12 noon and started rescue work.
The source also said that the down line (Dhaka-bound) has been closed for the time being due to this accident. However, as an alternative, limited train services are being operated on the up line in both directions. As a result, it is feared that delays and inconvenience may increase in train services.
Railway officials believe that it may take a long time to complete the work of repairing the line in addition to recovering the coach.
