Hatia Genocide Day celebrated in Ulipur of Kurigram

Historical Hatia Genocide Day was celebrated in Ulipur of Kurigram. On the occasion of the day, on Wednesday (November 13) at 8 a.m. in the old Anantapur market of Hatia Union of the upazila, organized by the Hatia Genocide Day Observance Committee, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal Ulipur Upazila branch convenor Aftab Uddin Mondal presided over the laying of wreaths at Shahid Minar, followed by discussion, prayer and Milad Mahfil.
Bangladesh Nationalist Freedom Fighters Central Vice-President and convener of Kurigram district branch former Member of Parliament Veer Muktijoddha Abdul Bari Sarkar, District Nationalist Freedom Fighters Joint Convenor Md. Nuruzzaman, Chilmari Upazila Freedom Fighters former commander Veer Muktijoddha Abdur Rahim Sarkar and others spoke. .
It should be noted that during the Great War of Liberation in Hatia Union, the Pak Army and their allies brutally killed 697 innocent people in the early hours of November 13, 1971. Since then this day is celebrated locally as Hatia Day.
