BGB has arrested an Indian citizen named Mozaffar Hossain (48) for illegal intrusion at Bhurungamari border in Kurigram. On Thursday (September 26) morning, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhurungamari Police Station Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter.

Earlier, he was arrested from Vothat Bazar in Bagbhandar border area of ​​Vurungamari Upazila of the district on Wednesday around 8 pm. Mozaffar Hossain is the son of Mohammad Ali of Motherganj area of ​​Sahebganj upazila of Cooch Behar district, India.

According to BGB, on Wednesday night, two Indian nationals entered illegally through the border pillar 957 of Baghvander BOP under Lalmonirhat BGB and are roaming in Vothat market within 600 yards of Bangladesh. Based on such secret information, a team from Bhagbhandar BOP camp detained them and interrogated them. Initially, they said that they came to the Bangladeshi Citizen Market to buy medicine, when BGB members challenged them, one of them ran away inside India, the other was arrested by BGB. Later, the BGB members handed over Mozaffar, an Indian national, to Bhurungamari police station.


Lalmonirhat 15 BGB Battalion Acting Commander Major Asiful Islam Siddiqui confirmed the arrest of the Indian national.


Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhurungamari Police Station Ruhul Amin confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a police case has been filed against an Indian citizen for illegal entry. He was sent to the learned court on Thursday morning.
