Allegation of threatening and beating the businessman for not paying the subscription

There have been allegations of threats and beatings to the businessman for not paying the subscription. The incident took place in Putimari area of Chilmari upazila of Kurigram. In this incident, a case has been filed at Chilmari police station by the victim named Ramchandra Das, a fish trader.
The accused in the case are Milan Mia, Nayan Mia, Masud Mia and Sumon Mia of Putimari Kajldanga village of Thanahat union of Chilmari upazila. Also 4-5 others are mentioned as anonymous.
The victim Ram Chandra Das is the son of deceased Baltu Ram Das of Kurachar Dakshin Wari village of Raniganj Union of the same upazila. According to paternal sources, Khadi Ram Chandra Das is in the hands of fish business by his father.
According to the statement of the case and the victim, Ram Chandra Das buys fish from fishermen every day and sells it wholesale on the Brahmaputra bank of Putimari Bazar in Thanahat Union. Due to market position and various reasons, a local group had to pay regular subscription. He stopped giving subscriptions after the fall of the government in the popular coup on August 5. After going like this for about 1 month, a group of people came to the house in the evening of last September 3 and asked to pay regular subscription. Ramchandra Das informed that he will not give any more subscription. Ramchandra Das and his wife were then beaten up. After that, the accused in the case asked to do business later by paying 2 lakh rupees. In view of this incident, Ramchandra Das filed a case at Chilmari Model Police Station on September 5
Ramchandra Das said, "Masud Gong has been taking regular subscription for my fish business since last 4-5 years. At least 1 day's worth of fish had to be provided every week. Since August 5, I have been receiving threats for not paying any more. At one point he went to my house and attacked me and my wife. After hearing that I filed a case at the police station, they abused me on the phone.
He also said that Masood Gong, accused in the case, is very dangerous. Anyone who speaks against them comes to beat them. Threatened to kill.
Masud Mia and Milan Mia have denied the allegations.
Masud Mia said, Ramchandra has no conflict with me. He filed a case in my name at the instigation of someone else. Milan Mia said, I have a long friendship with Ramchandra. A misunderstanding over a small issue led to a lawsuit. I have committed no crime.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chilmari Model Police Station Pranakrishna Debnath said that a case has been registered in this regard. Efforts are on to arrest the accused. We will take legal action subject to investigation.
