Abdur Rauf, headmaster of Sharif Hat MU High School in Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram, has been accused of various irregularities and corruption including financial irregularities, arbitrariness, recruitment business, political influence and other irregularities and corruption.

Current and former students of the school staged a protest in the school grounds on Saturday (August 31) alleging irregularities and corruption.
During the gathering, the students said that since the joining of the headmaster, Abdur Rauf, money has been taken from the students for various reasons including irregularity, corruption, arbitrariness and laziness politics. At that time, they took extra session fee for filling the form, 200 taka for ID card three years ago, but ID card has not been given till now. 2000 taka is taken for appreciation letter, transfer certificate. Meanwhile, these students raised allegations of money trading with newly appointed students. Besides, there are several other complaints against the head teacher.
They also said that the headmaster changed his strategy and started various irregularities and corruption by making a syndicate with some teachers of the institution by exerting political influence during the Awami League government. Collecting extra fees from students, collecting money without receipt, misappropriation of money by fake bills, coaching business, irregularity in student selection of stipend, etc. Even if the quality of education in the school is at the bottom, he has no headache in improving the quality of education.
Under the umbrella of the powerful people of the then government, the headmaster got the opportunity to continue his misdeeds unhindered. The head teacher never taught in the class room. Even if someone in the area protested about these irregularities, he was threatened and harassed in various ways by the political leaders.
They demanded the immediate resignation of the head teacher, the improvement of the quality of education in the school and the restoration of order.
In this regard, the head teacher of the school, Abdur Rauf, said that the allegations of irregularities and corruption are not true. False accusations are being made against me out of personal anger.
