Nazmul Hasan Papon of Bangladesh Cricket is over. He was the all-time master of Bangladesh cricket for the last century. He stepped down from the post after the BCB meeting on Wednesday. As the successor of Papon, the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board is the former captain Farooq Ahmed.

Farooq already had the councilorship of the cricket board as the former captain of the national team. On that occasion, he was added to the quota of the National Sports Council as a director. From there he came to the post of president of the cricket board. Jalal Yunus, another pacer of the national team, resigned two days ago to confirm Farooq's inclusion in the NSC quota for the post of director.

Farooq Ahmed's association with Bangladesh cricket has been going on for a long time. He became the captain of the Bangladesh national team in the 1993-94 season. At the end of his playing career, he served as a selector twice. He came to this position for the first time in 2003. Then in 2013, he became a selector again in the board of Nazmul Hasan Papon. He resigned from that position in 2016.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nazmul Hasan Papon announced his resignation in the conference room meeting of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He sat in this seat after the nomination of the president in 2012 and the election of 2013. After 2013, Papon has been serving as president for three consecutive years in 2017 and 21. In 2013, Nazmul Hasan Papon became director of NSC quota. Later the directors elected him as the president. In the last two elections, he was elected as a director of Dhaka Abahani as a councillor. Later, Papon was elected president in the same process.

After the political change, there was a huge rumor about the departure of Nazmul Hasan Papon. The member of parliament was elected for three consecutive terms during the previous government. He was last Minister of Youth and Sports. The cricket board was also monopolized. Although two vice-presidents are mentioned in the constitution of the board, those posts were empty during his tenure.

Nazmul Hasan Papon's current location is unknown. If he was removed from the post of president due to government interference in the cricket board, there was fear of ICC ban. But that apprehension has been removed for the time being as Papon himself resigned from this post.
