The head of the country's government has changed due to the students' anti-discrimination movement. After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. A 17-member interim government has been formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus. After that, resignations and new responsibilities are going on in almost every field of government appointments. The same may happen in Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Renowned coach of the country Nazmul Abedin Fahim has raised the demand for reforms in BCB.
Today (Saturday) while facing the journalists in Mirpur, he said, "We have been thinking about it (outline) for years, especially me. What can be done in some places, where there is a deficiency, what resources do we have with which we can overcome. Maybe I will talk about it in the future. In some places we are lagging behind, but there is no reason for us to be lagging behind in that place.
Although BCB looks fine from outside, coach Fahim also commented that there is no internal discipline here, 'since I got a chance to see it closely. I don't think BCB is a very disciplined organization. BCB is probably a great organization that looks from the outside or looks at its shine.
After that, demanding change in the country's highest cricket organization, he said, "I think that the opportunities that existed in BCB were not utilized." It did not happen for many reasons, not because of many mistakes. I think there needs to be a change here. The type of work, the act of indiscipline here is inside. It needs to be changed.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon was given the responsibility of youth and sports ministry for the first time last January. After the fall of the Awami League government, many of the sportsmen including him went into hiding. As a result, the leadership crisis has been created anew. Apart from this, Nazmul Abedin Fahim also thinks that BCB's activities were not on the right track due to lack of qualified leadership even during his stay. Therefore, he is in favor of managing the BCB through accountability and transparency by placing responsibility in the hands of qualified people.
Dr. Asif Mahmud, one of the coordinators of the students' movement, has become the advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Yunus-led government. Coach Fahim said that he has no objection to sit with him about bringing changes in BCB. Earlier, this coach of BKSPA, the country's sports education institution, also participated in the last BCB elections.
