The Asia Cup has entered the Super Four with excitement. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets on Saturday with sharp cricketing skills, achieving the target of 168 runs with just 1 ball remaining. After this remarkable victory, former Pakistan star Kamran Akmal advised the country to learn from Bangladesh.
Kamran Akmal said on his YouTube channel,
"Chasing 169 runs against a strong team like Sri Lanka is not easy. This is a great achievement for the Bangladesh team. Congratulations to the entire team, captain and management for their great game plan and excellent cricket."
In the match, Mustafizur Rahman took 3 wickets with the ball and Mehedi Hasan took 2 wickets. Opener Saif Hasan (61) and middle-order batsman Towhid Hridoy (58) made fifties with the bat. Short innings by Liton Das, Shamim Hossain and Zaker Ali also played an important role in the context of winning the match.
Kamran also said,
“Saif batted exceptionally well, played aggressive and positive cricket. Bangladesh got a strong middle-order batsman in Tawhid Hridoy. I enjoyed watching the batting, I didn’t feel there was any pressure.”
Pakistan lost to India in the first round by just 127 runs. In this situation, Kamran Akmal advised Pakistan to learn from Bangladesh’s style of play. He said,
“Bangladesh did not win just by depending on the conditions; rather, they won with game awareness and good planning. Pakistan also needs to think now.”
He also said,
“Bangladesh has made a strong playing XI. They have strengthened the bowling unit by playing Mehedi Hasan. Pakistan also needs to have a balanced batting and bowling plan. It is not possible to play with just three bowlers.”
Kamran advised Pakistan to bowl first if they win the toss. He said,
“Abhishek Sharma has to be dismissed in the first over, otherwise a big century can happen. The chase may be difficult due to dew. So Pakistan should win the toss and bowl first.”
The India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup Super Four will start at 8:30 PM Bangladesh time.
