Due to their off-form, there has been a lot of uncertainty about the careers of two Indian cricket stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. However, the Indian Cricket Board has kept them in the squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. During the team announcement, the team management was asked to express their thoughts on the retirement of the two experienced cricketers. In response, Indian national team selector Ajit Agarkar said that the issue will be addressed after the Champions Trophy.
Captain Rohit Sharma, who was in the news for retiring from Test cricket, has not yet decided on his retirement despite being left out of the playing XI for the Sydney Test. Agarkar said, "We are a month away from the Champions Trophy. Both of them are excellent performers in ODI cricket. We want to see about it after the Champions Trophy."
Rohit and Kohli's Test form has been disappointing in recent times, especially after the 3-1 series loss against Australia. They have also been knocked out of the race for the final of the Test Championship.
Meanwhile, the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy is set to begin on February 19, with India taking on Bangladesh in the first match. The India-Pakistan clash will be held on February 23.
