Sikandar Raja can be called Zimbabwe cricket's biggest advertisement. From IPL to international cricket, Sikandar Raja seems to be the name of Zimbabwe. Raja was the hero in a game that changed T20 history against Gambia. Nepal held the record for highest runs scored by a team in international T20 so far. That was broken yesterday with the bat of the Zimbabwean captain.
Nepal scored 314 runs against Mongolia. However, in yesterday's match, Zimbabwe broke that and wrote a new history. Rhodesians scored 344 for 4 against Gambia. Which is the world record for the highest run in T20 International.
Sikandar Raja scored an unbeaten 133 off 43 balls for the team that day. After Estonia's Sahil Chauhan, Sikandar Raja has become second in the list of fastest centuries in T20. However, as a Test playing country, he is the one who has scored the least number of balls in this format of cricket.
After such a batting performance, Raja became the man of the match. This is his 17th Man of the Match in T20 Internationals. The Zimbabwean captain is now on top of this list as well. Leaving behind Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Virandeep Singh of Malaysia.
Sikandar Raja played 95 matches from 17th man of the match. And from 16 Man of the Match, Virat has played 125 matches. Suryakumar has played the least 74 matches. And Virandeep has played 84 matches. Former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi is at the 5th position in the list. Man of the match 14 times after playing 129 matches.
