Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon was arrested from his Banani residence in the capital. He was arrested from Gulshan in the capital on Thursday (August 22) around 5:15 pm.
This information has been confirmed from the media and public relations department of DMP. It has been reported that he was arrested from Gulshan and taken to the DB office.
Workers Party central committee member Mustafa Alamgir Ratan told More News that at 5:15 pm, Rashed Khan Menon was arrested from his Banani residence by men in plain clothes identified as DB.
When asked where he was taken, Mustafa Ratan said that since he was detained by the DB, he was supposed to be at the DB office.
Workers Party is one of the partner parties of the 14-party alliance led by Awami League. During the Awami League period, he first served as the Minister of Private Aviation and later as the Minister of Social Welfare.
