Call for change, not rotten politics, expectation of justice in the voice of the youth of the 24th: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Not rotten and dirty politics, but fundamental change is the main demand of the youth of the 24th - said the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. He said that the current generation no longer wants to bear the burden of the old failed politics; they want to see a just, humane Bangladesh. He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the election rally of the 11-party alliance at the Katiadi College Ground in Kishoreganj at 11 am on Tuesday (February 3).

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We want a Bangladesh that will stand tall in the court of the world - as an independent, honorable and humane state." He mentioned that the youth of the country took to the streets with this dream and protested with all their blood against all forms of fascism in July. He commented that the nation has tasted freedom and independence again through their sacrifices and paid deep respect to that young generation.

He further said that no conspiracy to divide the nation will be allowed to succeed. The need of the hour is to establish a politics of justice, fairness and accountability instead of division and power-centric politics. The youth of the 24-year-old society is looking forward to this change—rotten politics no longer attracts them.

At the end of his speech, the Jamaat Ameer called on the people to give them an opportunity to form a state based on justice. He said that if the right decision is taken at this historic moment of change, Bangladesh will move forward on a new path, where politics will be for the welfare of the people, not for the greed of power.
