Two suspects arrested in front of Tarique Rahman's residence

Police and the Chairperson Security Force (CSF) have arrested two suspects in front of the residence of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman in the capital's Gulshan.

On Sunday (January 4), at 10:50 am, a person named Md. Ruhul Amin (46) was arrested in front of residence number 196 in Gulshan. He identified himself as a resident of Matlab Dakshin Upazila of Chandpur district.

Police sources said that the arrested person was taking pictures of the residence and the surrounding area from different angles. The matter seemed suspicious and the police and CSF members arrested him after questioning him.

Shortly after this, at 11:15 am, another person named Md. Omar Faruk was arrested in front of the same residence. His detailed identity could not be immediately confirmed.

Police claimed that two bags of marijuana were recovered from him during a body search as a suspect. Police said that legal action is underway at Gulshan Police Station against the two detainees.
