Attack on Nur and shooting at Hadi – same plot: Hasan Al Mamun

Senior Joint General Secretary of the People's Rights Council Hasan Al Mamun said that the attack on former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur and the shooting at Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi are similar plots. He claimed that both these attacks were politically motivated and were planned by the same group.
In a recent reaction, Hasan Al Mamun said that the blueprint for these violent political attacks taking place inside the country is being prepared outside the country, especially on the soil of neighboring India. He alleged that an organized group is carrying out these attacks in a planned manner to create instability in the ongoing political process in Bangladesh, especially around the upcoming national elections.
According to Hasan Al Mamun, the successive attacks targeting leaders of different political ideologies are not isolated incidents. Rather, it is a continuous and well-planned attempt, which aims to destroy the democratic environment of the country and establish the politics of fear.
He further said that it is the responsibility of the government to quickly identify and expose those behind these attacks. He also called on the law enforcement agencies to take a neutral and strict stance and arrest the attackers and bring them to justice.
Hassan Al Mamun said, “In the interest of protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty and democracy, everyone must stand united against these political violence. Otherwise, the situation may take a more dire form in the future.”
