Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari has issued a stern warning about the political future of BNP. He said that just as BNP was born through a ‘yes’ vote, if the party stubbornly chooses a ‘no’ vote this time, then it will die through a ‘no’ vote.

He said these things at a discussion meeting organized by Nagorik Oikya at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Thursday (October 30) afternoon.

Nasiruddin Patwari said, “BNP has signed the cabinet letter, they have said ‘yes’ to the July charter—now they have no chance to say ‘no’.” He alleged that Jamaat has turned the whole issue into a game by bringing the PR of the Upper House to the Lower House. “Jamaat does not trust the legal advisor,” he also commented.

Addressing Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus, the NCP leader said, “You have to issue a reform order in front of the people now.” According to him, BNP was actually trying to rehabilitate the Awami League using the Reform Commission, but the people stopped it.

He also said, “Now the Jatiya Party has relied on BNP. We will not make any concessions on the Awami League and Jatiya Party, because they have stabbed us in the back.”

Nasiruddin warned the BNP, “You are a big party, do not stubbornly choose a ‘no’ vote and build your own grave.”

He also gave a stern warning to the government, saying, “An order must be issued in front of the people quickly to implement the July Charter, otherwise the country will go towards disaster.”

According to Patwari, “If a civil war situation arises, the responsibility will fall entirely on the government.”
