EB Chhatra Dal is taking resumes for new leadership; Leadership confidence among the youth

A big change is coming in the leadership of the Islamic University (EB) branch Chhatra Dal. The organization has taken the initiative to form a new leadership with young and active workers instead of the three-month-long convening committee that has been stagnant for four years. As part of this, the central leaders have started collecting resumes (CVs) of aspiring workers.
On Saturday (October 18) afternoon, the organization's central vice-president Zahir Raihan Ahmed came to the campus and collected resumes of workers for the new leadership. At the time, he said that those who are regular students, those who are oppressed and those who are acceptable among the students will be on the priority list of the new committee.
According to party sources, the central leadership is determining a new strategy by learning from the failure of Chhatra Dal in the student parliament elections held in four universities in the political context after the July coup. This initiative has been taken as part of the reorganization of the organization in view of the upcoming national parliament elections.
Meanwhile, dozens of candidates are busy campaigning in the hope of announcing a new committee. Some are submitting their resumes directly to central leaders, while others are showcasing their qualifications through social and volunteer activities. It is learnt that playing a role in the party's difficult times, being active in the July Uprising and gaining the trust of students are also being given importance in determining the committee.
Among the potential young leaders under discussion are current members of the convening committee, Rafiz Ahmed (Finance 2018–19), Nur Uddin (Applied Chemistry 2018–19), Abu Saeed Roni (Political Science 2017–18), Rakib Hasan Sekhar (Accounting 2018–19), Tariqul Islam Sourav (Marketing 2018–19), Rifat Hossain (Tourism 2019–20), Alamin Hossain (Accounting 2019–20), Touhidul Islam (Accounting 2019–20), Ariful Islam Joni (Social Welfare 2019–20), Mehedi Hasan, Raihan Islam (Applied Nutrition and Food Technology 2018–19) and Saifullah Mamun (Al Hadith 2019–20).
Chhatra Dal Central Vice President Zahir Raihan said, “The work of forming new committees is underway in various units of the country. The new committee of Islamic University Chhatra Dal will also be announced very soon. Priority will be given to young leadership in this committee. Those who are regular students, those who are loyal and acceptable among the students will come to the leadership.”
Regarding the IXSU constitution, he also said, “We hope that the IXSU constitution will be formulated by November. We want to work unitedly with the general students in the IXSU elections. Although there were some complaints in the recent university elections, we want there to be no group influence in IXSU.”
Incidentally, the convening committee of the Islamic University branch of Chhatra Dal was formed on June 16, 2021. Shahed Ahmed, a student of the Department of Public Administration, was appointed as the convener and Masud Rumi Mithun as the member secretary. Although the committee was formed for three months, almost four years have passed. As most of the members are currently inactive, married or employed, the organization’s activities have come to a standstill.
In this context, the central leaders of the organization said that an effective and vibrant leadership will be established in the new committee of EB Chhatra Dal, giving priority to active and young leadership, which is expected to bring new momentum to university politics.
