All entrances to the campus will be closed for 34 hours due to the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Sangsad elections. The university authorities said in an emergency notice on Thursday that Shahbagh, Palashi, Doel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road, Udayan School and Nilkhet entrances will be closed for the general public from 8 pm on Monday to 6 am on Wednesday.
Only students, teachers and officials with valid ID cards will be allowed to enter. Their family members will be allowed to enter the campus by showing a photocopy of the relevant identity card.
No vehicles other than emergency services (ambulances, doctors, patients, law enforcement, journalists and fire service vehicles) with university stickers will be allowed to enter. In addition, those who are not working or students at the university will have to collect security passes from the proctor's office.
The authorities have requested students, teachers and employees to carry their identity cards with them during this time.
