Those who are DC in 64 districts

The interim government has decided to withdraw all the District Commissioners (DCs) of the country. They are said to be withdrawn by Tuesday (August 20). After that new DC will be appointed.
According to sources in the Cabinet Department and Ministry of Public Administration, the new DC will be appointed from among the BCS 24, 25 and 27 batch officers including the newly promoted Deputy Secretary. Recruitment criteria will be merit, efficiency and integrity.
The assistance of five officers who were deprived during the tenure of the previous government will be taken in the DC recruitment issue. They are - Nurjahan Khanam and Nazrul Islam of BCS 24th batch, Nurul Karim Bhuiya and Farida Khanam of 25th batch and Sarwar Alam of 27th batch.
It is reported that the oral examination of the administration officials who wanted to be DC was held on Monday (August 19) afternoon. New DC will be appointed today or tomorrow.

Earlier, 876 representatives were removed by the local government department. Among them there are 60 Zilla Parishad Chairman, 493 Upazila Chairman and 323 Municipal Mayors.
Apart from this, the government has issued a notification removing 988 upazila parishad vice chairman and female vice chairman.
The Local Government Department of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives issued this notification.
It is stated in the notification, hereby, by applying Section 10 of the Upazila Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 1024, all the vice-chairmen and all women vice-chairmen of the Upazila Parishad have been removed from the respective posts of the Upazila Parishad.
