Chief Justice violated code of conduct: Asif Nazrul

Asif Nazrul, adviser to the interim government and in charge of the law ministry, said, I have seen a status of the students. There, Asif Mahmud said, the Chief Justice called the full court meeting without any discussion. It is believed that the power that defeats the dictatorial government is a face on their side.
He said these things to the journalists after exchanging views with the officials of the Law Ministry at the Secretariat on Saturday (August 10).
Asif Nazrul said that the Chief Justice who is still in the Supreme Court called a full court meeting. I have seen a status of students in this regard. There, Asif Mahmud said, the Chief Justice called the full court meeting without any discussion. Supposedly, the power that defeats autocratic governments is a face on their side. Our Chief Justice is highly respected. But there were definitely questions about some of them. Especially when this movement was happening, the Chief Justice asked whether the verdict can be changed by movement or not? This was not taken well by the people.
He said, another thing was very sad. After he became the Chief Justice, he received flowers from the Chhatra League. This seems to me to be a code of conduct violation. It doesn't give a very good impression. There are many questions about DB chief Haroon. The Chief Justice also took a gift of a golden sword from him.
Harun was the main person in this movement who detained and tortured our students. I was very surprised when the Chief Justice took the golden sword as a gift from the DB chief. Awami League leaders stay at his (Chief Justice's) residence when they go abroad. There was a lot of controversy about him. During the movement, he commented, what kind of movement is this? The students demanded his resignation. Today, perhaps, that was reiterated, as he called a full court meeting.
Referring to this as an unintended incident, Asif Nazrul said, it is better if such an incident does not happen. We believe that the Supreme Court is the greatest institution for the protection of our human rights. No one should stand against the mass movement or mass uprising of the students. You have already seen what happened when the police force of the country faced the student crowd. We never want that to happen. We hope that everyone will have a good mind. Let us respect the desire of the mass movement of the students.
