Dr. Muhammad Yunus took oath yesterday as the chief adviser of the interim government in the Durbar Hall of Bangabhavan. The president Sahabuddin recited the oath to him. Then the names of 16 advisers were announced. 13 of these advisors also took oath yesterday. The three did not take oath yesterday as they were outside Dhaka.

 

Today (Friday) afternoon, the Cabinet Department has issued a notification distributing the duties of advisers in this interim government.

The notice shows the chief adviser. Muhammad Yunus will be in charge of 27 ministries including the cabinet department. These ministries are - Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Ministry of Food, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Textiles and Jute, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Railways, Public Administration Ministry, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Labor and Employment , Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Ministry of Liberation War, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

Among the advisers, Saleh Uddin Ahmed has been given the responsibility of two ministries. He will handle. Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning. Dr. Asif Nazrul Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Adilur Rahman Khan has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry. Hasan Arif has received the responsibility of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Md. Tauhid Hossain received the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Syeda Rizwana Hasan Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Sharmin S. Murshid Ministry of Social Welfare, Brigadier General (retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain Ministry of Religious Affairs, Farida Akhtar Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Nurjahan Begum Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Nahid and Asif got the responsibility of which ministry Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Nahid Islam has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and another coordinator Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
