The government has announced that it will start distributing family cards to more than 4 million families from July 1 to help the low and middle-income people of the country. At the same time, the farmer card program for farmers will also be launched with new enthusiasm.
At a program held in the capital, Social Welfare Minister Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said that the government is implementing this initiative to make the social security program more comprehensive and effective. He said that various support programs are being launched for farmers as part of the long-term plan for the development of agriculture and rural economy.
The minister also mentioned that increasing the number of agricultural officers at the local level is being seriously considered to increase agricultural production and ensure services at the field level.
Speakers at the program said that various government initiatives are already having a positive impact on improving the living standards of farmers and the common people. It was hoped that through the implementation of the family card and farmer card programs, beneficiaries will be able to get government assistance more easily.
The concerned officials said that preparations for the card distribution program are almost at the final stage and the program will begin nationwide at the scheduled time.
