12 high-ranking officials of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) are going to Pakistan to participate in a special training program. This executive development program will be held at the Civil Services Academy in Lahore from May 4 to May 11.
On April 30, the Ministry of Public Administration Bangladesh issued a government order (GO) in this regard. The order was issued in the public interest by the Ministry's Deputy Secretary Md. Mahmud Ullah Maruf.
The delegation participating in the training includes an additional secretary and 11 joint secretary-level officials. They include Salma Siddika Mahtab (Health Services Division), Md. Manzoor Jamal Haider (Commerce Ministry), Md. Abu Raihan Mia, Md. Firoz Ahmed, Md. Toufiq Imam, Md. Nasrin Akhter, AHM Ehteshamul Haque, Md. Shamsul Haque, Md. Muhammad Abdus Salam, Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman and Zia Ahmed Sumon.
The government order states that the Pakistan government will bear all the expenses of this training. As a result, the Bangladesh government will not have any financial responsibility for this visit.
In addition, the training period will be considered as 'on duty' and the officials will receive regular salaries and allowances. They will not be allowed to stay abroad beyond the specified period. Instructions have been given to submit a report to the concerned department within five days of returning home after the training.
It is learned that the delegation will leave Dhaka for Lahore at a convenient time around May 4.
