Dhaka University teacher Shehreen Amin Monami has announced that she will not leave the streets until a fair trial is held for the murder of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi. She said that justice for this murder will not be ensured unless a strong movement is formed on the streets.
Monami spoke to the media after participating in the blockade program of the Inqilab Manch at Shahbagh in the capital on Friday (January 2). She said, "Our demand is only one - trial for the murder of martyr Osman Hadi. The movement will continue until the trial is held. Responsibility cannot be avoided by just expressing regret. Everyone must directly participate in the movement."
Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of the Inqilab Manch, said that if charge sheets are not issued against all the accused involved in the murder by January 7, they will launch a movement to overthrow the government. She alleged that the government is making misleading statements. "Everyone who killed Osman Hadi must be brought to justice," he added. It is worth noting that Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi was shot during an election campaign in Paltan, Dhaka on December 12. He later died while undergoing treatment on December 18. Although 11 people have been arrested in the incident so far, the police have not been able to arrest the main suspects. Due to this, the angry protesters have announced to continue their protest on the streets until they get justice.
