Tareq Rahman's return home: 24-hour special instructions at Shahjalal

Special security and operational instructions have been issued at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka in view of the return home of BNP acting chairman Tariq Rahman after a long 17 years.

For security reasons, no one other than designated passengers will be allowed to enter the airport from 6 pm on Wednesday (December 24) to 6 pm on Thursday (December 25). The entry of fellow passengers and visitors will be completely prohibited during this time.

This information was given in a press release sent by the Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday (December 23). The release said that this special decision has been taken in the interest of passenger service, security and maintaining operational discipline at the airport.

The release further mentioned that only passengers with valid tickets will be allowed to enter the airport area during the specified time. The airport authorities have sought the cooperation of all concerned, including passengers, in this regard.

It is worth noting that BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman is returning to the country after a long 17 years. The government has announced to ensure maximum security for his arrival. Sources believe that these security instructions have been issued in the context of his return to the country.
