4 more people die of dengue in 24 hours, 247 hospitalized

Four more people have died of dengue fever in the country in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of deaths due to dengue this year has reached 114. At the same time, 247 new patients have been hospitalized.
This information was given in a press release sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Saturday (August 23).
The release said that among the patients admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours, 56 are in Barisal division (outside the City Corporation), 57 in Chittagong division (outside the City Corporation), 31 in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 32 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 68 in Dhaka South City Corporation and three in Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation).
During this time, 226 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. So far this year, 26,781 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
The total number of dengue cases in the country has reached 28,202. Of the infected, 59.2 percent are men and 40.8 percent are women.
All four of the people who died in the last 24 hours were residents of Dhaka South City Corporation, the release said.
