BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has returned home from London, UK, after a four-month long medical treatment. National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam welcomed her return and congratulated her.
Sarjis Alam made this message in a statement on his verified Facebook profile at 12:30 pm on Tuesday (May 6).
There, he wrote,

"Welcome to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in Bangladesh. We want to believe that in the July coup, the aspirations of the entire student population of Bangladesh, who sacrificed their blood and lives for the cause, will continue to work uncompromisingly to protect the country's democracy by keeping those aspirations in mind. I wish her good health and long life."
He further mentioned that Khaleda Zia's role in the country's political stability, continuity of democracy and protection of civil rights was as important in the past as it will be relevant in the future.
After receiving treatment in London for four months, Begum Zia landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 10:40 am on Tuesday in a special air ambulance of the Emir of Qatar. Two daughters-in-law - Dr. Zubaida Rahman (wife of Tarique Rahman) and Syeda Sharmila Rahman (wife of Arafat Rahman Koko) returned home with her on the same flight.
A new discussion has started in the country's political circles centered on the return of Begum Khaleda Zia. According to observers, this return may add a new dimension to the future political strategy and organizational dynamics of the BNP.
However, Khaleda Zia is not yet fully recovered. It is known that she will be kept under the supervision of specialized doctors even after returning to the country. Although her direct participation in political programs is uncertain at this time, it is expected that she will continue to communicate with leaders and activists and provide political guidance.
Begum Zia's return is being considered a significant moment in the context of opposition politics, especially in the ongoing political reality of the country where the stability of democracy and civil rights are repeatedly facing challenges.
