time for investigation into Sagar-Runi murder case extended by another 6 months!

The High Court has given another 6 months to investigate the case filed in the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi. The High Court bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi issued the order on Tuesday following the state's request for time.
Additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf heard the case in court for the state. Advocate Shishir Monir was in favor of the writ.
Earlier, on October 23, a four-member high-level task force committee was formed with the PBI chief as the convener to investigate the case filed in the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi. The committee includes a representative of the police not below the rank of Additional DIG, a representative of the CID and a representative of the RAB.
On October 17, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs formed the task force and issued a notification. On September 30, the High Court ordered the formation of a high-powered task force to investigate the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi. They were asked to complete the investigation within six months.
The Home Ministry was asked to implement this directive. The task force was asked to form experienced investigation officers from various forces.
The High Court bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Muhammad Mahbub-ul-Islam passed the order after hearing the state's application.
Additional Attorney General Arshadur Rouf and Additional Attorney General Barrister Anik R. Haque heard the case in the court. Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir and Advocate Manzil Morshed heard the case for the plaintiff and the writ petitioner.
Earlier, a supplementary application was filed to remove RAB from the investigation into the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi. This application was filed by the state.
A new lawyer was appointed in the case filed in the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi on September 29. Eminent criminal law expert Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir has been appointed as the lawyer for the discussed case. On Sunday, Nowsher Roman, the plaintiff in the Sagar-Runi murder case, said that from now on, lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir will fight legally to unravel the mystery of the Sagar-Runi murder case.
Lawyer Shishir Monir said, we will start working to unravel the mystery of the Sagar-Runi murder. As part of this, we will hold a meeting with the investigation officers very soon. At the same time, we will fight legally in the lower court and the high court to unravel the mystery of the murder.
The time for submitting the investigation report in the case filed in the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarwar and Meherun Runi has been extended 113 times so far. The next hearing is scheduled for October 15.
Earlier, on the night of February 11, 2012, journalist couple Sagar Sarwar, news editor of Maasranga Television, and Meherun Runi, senior correspondent of ATN Bangla, were brutally murdered in their rented house in West Rajabazar of the capital.
