National Citizens Committee Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain said, “The Awami League, which carried out genocide, no longer has any right to do politics in Bangladesh.” He made these comments while attending the funeral of Kashem, who was killed in the Gazipur clash, at the central Shaheed Minar in the capital on Wednesday night. Akhtar said, “I swear on the body of the martyred brother, if the Awami League tries to cause any more objectionable incidents, we will fight against them with the last blood of our body.”

He also said, “Six months have passed since the liberation of Bangladesh, and our brother was hacked to death, he became so sick that he became a martyr.” Akhtar called those who were active behind the murder as the “fallen fascist Awami League.”

At this time, Akhtar mentioned the UN report and said, "The police committed genocide in Bangladesh on the orders of Sheikh Hasina, committed crimes against humanity." He also said, "Whether in India or wherever she is; Sheikh Hasina must be brought to the country and tried using all the domestic and international forces."

Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, called for banning the Awami League and said, "The UN report has revealed that Hasina is directly involved in genocide. Our brother was killed even after six months." He said, "We have not been able to get justice even after this long."

Hasnat said, addressing the government, "What else do you need to ban the Awami League?"

Arif Sohel, member secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said, "Revolutionaries are still being martyred after six months. What has the interim government done in six months?"

A coffin procession was organized after the funeral at Shaheed Minar on this day.
