One of the roads of public importance in Munshiganj Municipality is the Forest Division-Katakali Road. The condition of this 2-kilometer long road is getting worse day by day, but no initiative has been taken by the concerned authorities to repair it.
Most of the road is full of potholes and large holes, due to which water accumulates in the holes even after a little rain. This often leads to various minor and major accidents, due to which pedestrians, passengers and transport drivers are suffering.
Munshiganj Municipality renovated the road about 5-6 years ago, but since then no work has been done on this road. Locals have expressed their anger over this and demanded immediate and sustainable renovation.
Thousands of people use this road every day, including the sick, the elderly and students, who are facing multiple problems. Especially school students are facing extreme suffering while traveling on this potholed road every day.
Recently, it was found that the condition of the approximately 2-kilometer road from the Forest Department to Katakali is really bad. Media worker Golam Ashraf Ujjal said, "My home is in the Kewar area, and I have to travel on this road every day. The condition of the road is so bad that no auto can go there. It is extremely risky for school students to use this road."
In this regard, Munshiganj Municipality Executive Engineer Mohammad Ali told Bhorer Kagoj, "The work of renovating the road has been undertaken through the project. Approximately one and a half kilometers of the road from the Forest Department to Katakali will be renovated very soon."
Now not only local residents, but people from the entire city are waiting for the renovation of this road.
