Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has expressed his strong stance on the ongoing ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ across the country. He said, “No devil should escape from the hands of law enforcement.”
The Home Affairs Advisor spoke as the chief guest at a workshop on law enforcement and human rights at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital on Monday. He said that the government has taken a strong stance against criminals to maintain peace and security in the country.
“We do not want to see any criminal anywhere on the streets, markets, fields, squares, or highways. Every criminal must be brought under the law and their trial must be ensured.”
He also said, “Even though fascism has departed, their accomplices have continued their conspiracy. They have looted state resources, controlled the media, and tried to weaken law enforcement.”
The Home Affairs Advisor said that the law enforcement agencies have arrested a significant number of criminals in the 'Operation Devil Hunt' campaign that began on February 8 and the campaign will continue.
Police officers, judicial magistrates, public prosecutors and district administrators of Dhaka and Gazipur cities participated in this workshop. There are plans to gradually bring all metropolitan and district administrations of the country under this workshop.
