The court has granted four-day remand to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's former advisor Salman F Rahman, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and former ambassador and former Trinamool BNP president Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury in the capital's Jatrabari Police Station murder case during the anti-discrimination movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order after the hearing today, Monday. Earlier in the morning, the investigation officer of the case and Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Nazmul Hasan presented them to the court and applied for a 10-day remand. State Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki held the hearing in favor of the remand. The defendant's lawyer applied for bail, seeking cancellation of the remand. After the hearing, the court granted a four-day remand.
According to the case sources, Parvez Mia participated in the anti-discrimination movement in the capital's Jatrabari area on August 5. In the afternoon, he was injured in the bullets fired by the accused and went to Dhaka Medical College. After a while, the doctor declared him dead. The deceased's mother Kanish Fatema filed a case in this incident at the capital's Jatrabari Police Station on October 29.
