If the people are isolated, the consequences will be like August 5:Tarique Rahman

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said, “We have seen what the consequences can be if any party moves away from the people or works against them on August 5. That day was a big lesson for us.”
He said these things at a workshop organized by the BNP Training Committee on Tuesday (January 28) evening. He addressed leaders and activists of Khulna district, Mahanagar, Satkhira and Bagerhat districts through virtual means. The topic of the workshop was ‘31 points to repair the state structure and public involvement.’
Urgent to go to the people with 31 points
Tareque Rahman said, “31 points are not just a declaration, it is a plan for implementation. We have to take these points to the people. We have to explain them and make them feel the importance of these points in their lives. If we move away from the people, the consequences will be terrible. The people are our strength, we must stand by them.”
He further said, “If we are with the people, understand their problems, and work to solve them, we will be successful. But we have learned from history what the consequences of being isolated from the people can be. The same mistake cannot be made again.”
Message to leaders and activists
Tarique Rahman said to the leaders and activists, “Regardless of party affiliation, the common people now want to trust BNP. We have to maintain this trust. If someone does something that destroys this trust, he will not be given shelter. The party has to be selfish, but this selfishness is for the welfare of the party and the people.”
Concerns about the state of the country
Tarique Rahman said, “In the last 15 years, the overall state of the country has lagged behind. Every sector of ours has become weak. The political and economic rights of the people have been violated. If we want the freedom of the people, we have to ensure these two rights. BNP is working towards that goal.”
The people are the owners of the country
Tareque Rahman highlighted the importance of the people in his speech and said, “The people are the owners of the country. At the end of the day, they will decide whether we are popular or not. So we have to stand by the people, listen to them and gain their trust. This is the only way to survive.”
Pledge to restore democracy
Paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the movement to establish democracy, he said, “The liberation of the country is not possible without establishing democracy. We will not forget those who gave their lives in this movement. Our main goal is to work for the rights of the people.”
