Arafat, Tarana Halim and 24 former MPs' cars up for auction!

The Chittagong Customs Authority has decided to auction the duty-free imported luxury cars of former MPs. A total of 24 cars will be put up for online auction, which will start next Sunday.
The cars up for auction include Toyota Land Cruisers. These cars were imported by Mohammad Sadiq, ABM Anisuzzaman, Tarana Halim, Shahjahan Omar and several former MPs. Chittagong Customs Deputy Commissioner Saidul Islam said that there will be an opportunity to see these cars kept in the new car shed directly from February 2-4. The auction process will end on February 16.
According to customs sources, the fixed price of the cars, including duty, is Tk 96.7 million. 60 percent or more bidders in the auction will be able to buy the cars. Each car will cost about Tk 72.5 million.
In addition, the money received from the sale at the auction will be deposited in the government treasury. Chittagong Customs expects the government to earn about 70 million taka in revenue through this auction. Those interested in participating in the auction can participate in the process by registering online.
