BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon said, "Tarique Rahman is the mastermind of the movement to overthrow the government. He is not a behind-the-scenes craftsman, but a craftsman of the public. Even from a distance of 6,000 kilometers, he stood by the people of Bangladesh and said 'Take-back Bangladesh'."
He said these things as the chief guest at a blanket distribution ceremony organized on the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman at the district BNP office in Chinishpur, Narsingdi on Saturday afternoon.
Khairul Kabir Khokon also said, "The anti-discrimination student activists did not protest to overthrow the government, they protested against quotas. However, BNP went on a one-phase movement to overthrow the government long ago."
Commenting on the corruption of the Sheikh family, he said, "Corruption has spread not only in the country, but wherever the members of the Sheikh family have gone, corruption has spread. Tulip has even been forced to resign from the British cabinet. The FBI has already received information about corruption worth three hundred billion dollars. There are allegations that members of the Sheikh family are involved in these corruptions.''
The event was presided over by Narsingdi city BNP president AKM Golam Kabir Kamal, and was attended by district BNP joint convener Faruk Uddin Bhuiyan, Sadar Upazila BNP general secretary Iqbal Hossain, district BNP member Kabir Ahmed, and Chinishpur Union BNP president Awlad Hossain Mollah and other leaders.
