A case has been filed against former President Abdul Hamid. The case was filed against him at Kishoreganj Police Station on charges of attacking the anti-discrimination student movement. Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Wazed, daughter Saima Wazed, and 124 others have been named as accused in the case.

This is the first case filed against former President Abdul Hamid. He has been named as the third accused in the case, with Sheikh Hasina as the first accused and Sheikh Rehana as the second accused.

Abu Taher Bhuiyan's son Tahmul Islam, who is 27 years old and a BNP activist, filed the case at Kishoreganj Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. He said that he was attacked during the student movement and underwent long-term treatment and has now recovered somewhat and filed the case.

Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed that the case will be investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken.

So far, 11 cases have been filed in Kishoreganj since the fall of the Awami League government, in which more than 10,000 unidentified persons, including about 4,000 names, have been named as accused.

The complaint alleges that the accused, who are based in the country and abroad, planned violent attacks in Kishoreganj with the aim of suppressing the movement and committing genocide. On August 4, 2024, a student-public procession was attacked in the Station Road area of the district town, and bullets and grenades were hurled, resulting in many injuries and creating terror in the area.
