The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on charges of abusing power and receiving plots from RAJUK.
The cases were filed at the ACC's Dhaka Integrated District Office on Tuesday, January 13. ACC Director General Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter.
Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Sheikh Hasina have been named as the main accused in the two cases, and Sheikh Hasina has also been named as an accomplice in the Sajeeb Wazed Joy case. There are 8 accused in the case filed against Sheikh Hasina, and 15 accused in the case filed against Joy.
The ACC statement said that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, while in power, abused her position and registered a plot on Road No. 203 in the highly valued diplomatic area of the Purbachal New City Housing Project in her own name, which was done in violation of laws, rules and policies.
Earlier, on January 13, three separate cases were filed against Sheikh Rehana and her family members on charges of receiving plots from RAJUK. In these, 12-13 officials of RAJUK and the Housing Ministry have also been made accused.
