The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case alleging irregularities in the allocation of plots in Purbachal, Dhaka. Sheikh Rehana, her son Radwan Mujib Siddique Bobby and daughter Azmina Siddique Ruponti have been named as accused in the case. In addition, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her daughter, British Minister Tulip Siddique, have also been named as accused on charges of abuse of power and irregularities.
ACC Director General Akhter Hossain told reporters in this regard on Monday. He also said that an investigation is underway against Sheikh Hasina and her family members for the allotment of six plots of 10 kathas in collusion with senior officials of RAJUK. Three cases have been filed subject to the approval of the commission after irregularities were found in the allocation of these plots in the diplomatic zone of the Purbachal new city project.
According to the report, the ACC has found sufficient evidence that Tulip Siddique influenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the allotment of plots. 15 people, including her daughter Tulip Siddique, officials from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and RAJUK, have been named as accused in the case against Sheikh Rehana. 16 people have been named as accused in separate cases against Bobby and Ruponti.
In addition, on December 26, the ACC began an investigation into allegations of corruption in the allocation of 6 plots in the Purbachal New City project, which began on August 5 after the fall of the government.
