BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that some people in the country are trying to create a rift in the unity of political parties. However, he is optimistic that all conspiracies will fail and programs will be carried out together in the future.
Fakhrul made these comments at the first council meeting of the AB Party at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday afternoon. He said, “Political parties must be careful so that no conspiracy can ruin this victory achieved through the uprising of the student population.”
Fakhrul also said, “The economic condition of the country is not very good, it is in a fragile political situation. We want to fight it together. We have to solve this problem together. If we can remove the fascist government together, why can’t we create a state of new possibilities?”
Noting that BNP has already spoken about reforms, he said, “We have spoken about reforms, we are saying again that we want reforms. There are some people who are more restless about the elections than about reforms before the elections, but that is not the case. We want quick elections, because through elections our strength will increase and there will be a government and parliament. The crises created through this will be resolved.”
Fakhrul also said, “We want to form a unified national government after the elections. We want to solve the problems by bringing all political parties together. Members of other parties must give their opinions.”
