Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators and general secretary of Juli Smriti Foundation, said that two thousand people gave their lives without thinking about their families and not just for an election. If that were the case then all the people would have taken to the streets together in the last 16 years. These people come together when the murderous Hasina's corruption destroys every system.
He said these things to reporters while paying tribute to the 48th death anniversary of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani in Santoshe of Tangail on Sunday (November 17) night.
He further said that people were deprived of basic rights everywhere. Backs were pushed against the wall to get services for common people. People had to pay money, hostages were held by the syndicates, then the students took to the streets together against these overall systems. The solution that was supposed to be political in 16 years, the fall of murderer Hasina was supposed to be politically, that murderer Hasina fell through the movement of students.
Regarding the performance of the interim government, he said, from our place, we are not talking about the interim government staying in power for three, four, five years. And if someone says six months, Neta is absurd. The expectations of the interim government in 100 days were not fulfilled, but the position of this government would have been better if the political parties had cooperated.
He said, when going to the market, common people cannot buy as per demand. Market syndicates have changed hands. They have to be worked on.
At this time Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani's son-in-law Mahmudul Haque Sanu, time manager. Mahim Sarkar, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement of Tangail Al Amin, Md. Kamrul Islam, Al Amin Siam and others were present.
