Dhaka-Mymensingh highway blocked by TNZ group workers in Gazipur's Malek Bari area is occupied by workers again. After about 53 hours, they lifted the blockade around 2 pm. However, after an hour, the workers again came down to the streets. Now they are saying that they have to hand over the arrears of salary, then they will leave the road.
After blocking the highway for 53 hours, on Monday (November 11) around 2 pm, the workers announced the withdrawal of the blockade with the assurance of the Labor Secretary. After that, traffic on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway became normal.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Ibrahim Khan said, after announcing the lifting of the blockade, traffic flow became normal. The workers blocked the highway again around 3:15 pm. The workers said they were assured of payment of salaries many times before. Now they are no longer keeping promises. Most of the workers say they will block the highway until they receive the dues.
