The management company, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, is trying to start the Mirpur-10 station of Metrorail quickly. The cost of commissioning the station will also be very low.
According to DMTCL sources, the Mirpur-10 station was badly damaged due to the attack by miscreants. Almost all equipment including TVM, passenger gate, control room, display, camera were damaged. The equipments used in Metrorail stations are proprietary items. These materials are not available from other organizations as they are designed and developed by the manufacturer. Therefore, taking into account the passenger demand, Mirpur-10 station will be launched by bringing some equipment from the stations which have comparatively less passenger pressure. Some parts including gates will be brought from Uttara North, Uttara Center, Uttara Dakshin and installed at Mirpur-10 station. Apart from this, some parts will be brought from the training center for the time being. Locally sourced parts that can be used at affected stations are also being procured. This is reducing the cost for the time being and the passengers will also get the service of the station quickly.
