The chief adviser of the interim government has given up the responsibility of four ministries. Muhammad Yunus. He now has six ministries and departments under his control.

This information came to light after the issuance of notification in this regard from the Cabinet Department on Tuesday (August 27).

According to the announcement, Dr. Muhammad Yunus has 10 ministries and departments in charge, but he left four. As of now there are six ministries and departments under him. They are - Cabinet Department, Defense Ministry, Armed Forces Department, Food Ministry, Public Administration Ministry and Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry.

The four ministries left are the Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Shipping and Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. Among them, Saleh Uddin Ahmed, who is in charge of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Advisor Hasan Arif along with the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Ministry of Land, Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain has been given the responsibility of the Textile and Jute Ministry as well as the Shipping Ministry and Social Welfare Ministry Advisor Sharmin S Murshid has also been given the responsibility of the Women and Child Affairs Ministry.

Last August 16, the duties of the eight advisers of the interim government were redistributed. Earlier on August 8, 14 advisers including the chief adviser took oath. The three advisors did not take oath that day as they were out of Dhaka and the country.

The next day on August 9, the Cabinet Department issued a notification apportioning the offices of the Chief Advisor and other advisors.
