Railway authorities are starting Chittagong to Dhaka train service at night

Train movement is starting from Chittagong. Two trains are scheduled to leave Chittagong for Dhaka on Monday (August 26) night. Among them, Tourna will leave Chittagong station at 11:30 pm and Chittagong Mail will leave at 12:30 pm. From the next day (Tuesday) the train will start running at full speed.
Chittagong Divisional Railway Manager Saiful Islam confirmed this information to Morenews.
Earlier, it was announced that train movement across the country with Chittagong will be stopped from 12:30 on August 22. On that day, manager Saiful Islam said that the railway line from Feni to Fazilpur was submerged in flood water. Water has also risen in some places on the Sylhet route. Besides, there have been reports of railway line being uprooted in Comilla due to flood water. Flood water has accumulated at Feni station. Cox's Bazar route has also collapsed. Due to the overall situation, the train movement was stopped.
Railway departmental transport officials said that there are two lanes on the Dhaka-Chittagong railway. One lane (Chittagong to Dhaka lane) was more damaged in the current. The other is comparatively less. It has been renovated and made suitable for trains.
11 intercity trains run daily from Chittagong to Dhaka, Jamalpur, Sylhet and Chandpur. Besides, local and commuter trains run regularly in Cox's Bazar, Nazirhat, Chandpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh.
