Watermelon can be your friend in controlling blood pressure and preventing diseases

Many local and foreign fruits and vegetables appear in our diet during the winter season. One of the lesser-known but nutritious ones is watermelon or 'Singara fruit'. Although it is basically an aquatic vegetable, it is different from all other fruits in taste and nutrition.
Watermelon is mainly grown in the warm regions of Bangladesh, India, China, the Philippines, Japan and Africa. This fruit, which grows underwater in mud or swamps, can be eaten raw or cooked. It is especially popular in Asian cuisine for its crispy texture.

Watermelon is low in calories, fat-free and rich in fiber. It contains vitamin B6, riboflavin, potassium, manganese and copper. These elements help in the body's energy production, nerve function, blood pressure control and cell protection.
