Adviser on law, justice and parliamentary affairs of the interim government. Asif Nazrul said that the trial of the July massacre will be done at the International Criminal Tribunal.

He said this while briefing the media persons at the Secretariat on Wednesday, August 14.
The legal adviser said, "The trial of the July genocide is possible at the International Criminal Tribunal. The government has decided that it will be at the International Criminal Tribunal."

He further said, “The case is being prosecuted for genocide and firing. It will be investigated whether it can be judged as a crime against humanity. There will be an investigation under the auspices of the United Nations."

Asif Nazrul said, "Initiatives were taken to withdraw false and harassing cases across the country within three days. But it was not possible to do that. It was not possible because there was no police force. Now that the police have joined, hopefully all those cases will be withdrawn by August 31. The Dhaka city case will be withdrawn by Thursday. The cases of journalist Rozina Islam and Mahmudar Rahman Manna will be withdrawn.”
He said, “Disparity is pervasive. Discrimination on the basis of religion, on the basis of politics will be eliminated."
