49th Special BCS to begin: Over 3 lakh applications, 683 vacancies

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has released the schedule of the MCQ type written test of the 49th Special BCS examination. According to the commission's notification, the examination will be held on October 10 (Friday) from 10 am to 12 noon.
In a notification released by the PSC on Wednesday (September 10), the examination will be held only in Dhaka. Detailed information and important instructions regarding the examination center and seat will be published later on the commission's website www.bpsc.gov.bd
and in national daily newspapers.
A total of more than 3,12,000 applications have been submitted for the 49th Special BCS for the recruitment of lecturers in government colleges, which is 683 vacancies, with an average of about 456 candidates competing for each post.
Due to the long-standing teacher shortage in the education cadre, the PSC released the notification for this special BCS on July 21. Online application starts from July 22 and continues until August 22. Those who completed the application within the stipulated time were able to submit the application fee until 11:59 pm on August 25.
