A commercial ship carrying food was attacked in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday. A total of six people were killed and 10 were injured. Three Pakistanis were among the dead. Another Pakistani was injured in the incident.

After the incident, the Pakistani government has started contacting the relevant authorities to collect detailed information about the attack and monitor the situation.

Violation of international law: Ishaq Dar

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar condemned the attack in a statement, saying that such attacks are a clear violation of international law, putting the lives of innocent people at risk.

He also said that such incidents pose a serious threat to the freedom of international navigation.

He also said that the Pakistani government is in touch with the Saudi authorities and the internationally recognized government of Yemen to get detailed information about the attack.

Initiatives to repatriate the bodies of the deceased

The Pakistani embassy in Riyadh has been instructed to take necessary measures to quickly repatriate the bodies of the slain Pakistani citizens.

At the same time, instructions have also been given to ensure the treatment and necessary assistance of the injured Pakistani citizens. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that all necessary assistance, including the treatment of the injured, will be provided.

Pakistan monitoring the situation

The Pakistani Foreign Minister said that the government is closely monitoring the entire situation. In addition to collecting information about the cause of the attack, the identity of those responsible and the subsequent situation, contact with the concerned countries is ongoing.
