A rotten egg was thrown at Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh in front of the house of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The incident took place on Monday (June 15) when Mamata Banerjee was leaving her Kalighat residence in Kolkata. The thrown egg hit Kunal Ghosh on the head and back.
According to Indian media reports, a complaint has been filed at the Kalighat police station in this incident. Later, the police arrested two people named Chandan and Ravi.
After the incident, one of the accused claimed that he did this act out of anger against Kunal Ghosh.
Kunal Ghosh said after the incident that he cannot be stopped by threatening him. He said, "If you want to kill me, kill me in front, I will go through that road."
Trinamool Congress has accused BJP of involvement in the incident. The party leaders have claimed that BJP people are involved in the incident.
However, no statement was received from BJP regarding the allegation. Questions have also been raised about security in such an incident in front of Mamata Banerjee's house.
