Lucknow hospital rapes patient, arrests director and doctor

Police have arrested the hospital director and a doctor in connection with the rape of a woman undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lucknow, India. Local law enforcement confirmed the matter on Saturday (May 23).
According to police sources, the woman was admitted to a hospital in Lucknow's Bakshi Ka Talab area on May 19 for treatment. It is alleged that an untoward incident occurred inside the operation theater on May 21 during treatment. Later, the police started an investigation after the victim's family filed a written complaint.
Based on the complaint, a case was filed under the relevant sections of the Indian law. The hospital director and a doctor in charge were questioned during the investigation. After reviewing the initial information and evidence, the police took them into custody.
Authorities said that various evidence related to the incident has been collected as part of the investigation. Later, when the accused were produced in court, they were ordered to be sent to judicial custody.
Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing and necessary legal action will be taken after verifying the detailed information.
