An exceptional digital initiative called ‘Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)’ has recently been widely discussed on Indian social media. It was founded on May 16 by an Indian youth named Abhijit Deepak. Outside of the conventional political party, this initiative based on satire, memes and social messages gained immense popularity in the internet world in a short time.

It is known that Abhijit Deepak, the founder of CJP, graduated in journalism from Pune and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public relations at Boston University in the United States. He also worked as a volunteer in the social media team of the Aam Aadmi Party from 2020 to 2023.

The party has introduced itself as ‘the voice of those who are not counted by the system’. Their content highlights unemployment, question leakage, the education system and various problems of the youth through memes, graphics, animations and political satire. They have also given exceptional conditions for membership, where ‘being active online’ and ‘satire skills’ are given importance.

It is said that this initiative was originally started around a controversial comment by the Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. Later, when the comment went viral on social media, ‘Kakroch Janata Party’ also came to the center of discussion. The party has now become a major topic of interest for netizens as it highlights the anger and social reality of the youth through digital satire.
